Matt Lever was born and raised in England. He attended the Bournemouth & Poole College of Art & Design.
After leaving Bournemouth he left England for California where he is based today.

Matt has shot backstage at the fashion shows since 1999 and has represented British Elle for the majority of this time. He also shoots backstage exclusively for Dolce & Gabbana at their Alta Moda fashion shows.

Matt has been sponsored by photographic luggage company Lowepro to represent them in the field of fashion photography. Matt has also had a book of his backstage photographs published, the book is called ‘Behind the Runway’.

Along with his backstage work Matt also works in the fields of advertising and editorial photography and has a client list including Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Gap, Banana Republic, Dolce & Gabbana, Akris and Oracle to name a few.
